The National Data Center of Ethiopia is the heart of the WAN, which is designed, based on TIA-942. MCIT give different services to the citizens, from those services like Video Conference, Internet, Voice Over IP, Messaging, Web hosting. The Mission and Vision of MCIT The major responsibilities of the Ministry are: Implement Communication and Information Technology policy by formulating short, medium and long-term Communication and Information programs, Monitor and evaluate implementation of Communication and Information Technology projects and programs, Develop frameworks for the development of Communication and Information Technology in sectors such as Agriculture, Industry and Commerce, Education, Health, etc. Formulate projects and programs to guide Communication and Information Technology development with focus on strengthening on-going initiatives in all the sectors aimed at improved service delivery and enhancing good governance. Position and Responsibilities : I am System and Network Administrator having responsibilities of network related support, video conference administration, system and Network administration especially exchange administration (as I configured MCITs mail service for public use ) and in parallel I am working as Network Operation System Analyst in our Data Center. Thus, the responsibilities and engagements I involved made gained a valuable practical experience in Microsoft servers, NOC support, network administration and security as well. I have got chance to attend international oversea training programs on NOC (Network Operation System), UAC (Unified Authentication Center), ITIL Service Manager (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), SOC (Security Operation Center) related to NMS, WSUS, UTM (Unified Treat Management) in China ZTE University and in India at CETTM (Centre for Excellence in Telecom Technology and Management) on IP networks and advanced routing technologies. These helped me improve my background knowledge on the area, and enhance to meet with international trainees sharing academic and social experiences. Relation to Current and Future Network Activities : As I mentioned about my Organization Services, Responsibilities, Vision and Mission, in the ITC environment there are a number of problem that could affect for not providing effective service to the Citizens.
